Taiwanese Beef

We head to the Far East for this superbly quick beef dish that will delight your tastebuds. You can serve with either noodles or rice.

 

What you need

  • 150ml chicken stock
  • 2 tsp light soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Chinese black vinegar (or a very young balsamic)
  • 1/2 tsp 5 spice,
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar,
  • 1/2 tsp chilli flakes
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 onion,
  • 2 cloves garlic,
  • 1 thumb sized piece of ginger, chopped
  • 2 carrots cut fine
  • 1/2 box of mushrooms
  • 500g minced beef
  • 2 spring onions
  • fresh egg noodles, to serve with
  • small bunch of coriander for dressing

First up make a quick stock. Mix chicken stock with light & dark soy sauce, black vinegar, 5 spice, brown sugar,chilli & some toasted sesame

Fry off onion, garlic, ginger & carrot till soft

Add Mushrooms – fry 1 min

Add beef, break up – fry till crisp

Add yer stock

Add sliced spring onions, mix through. Then garnish with plenty sesame seeds & extra chilli flakes if needed

Done, Quick Simple Taiwanese Beef Serve with noodles and fresh green ends of spring onion and garnish with coriander. Enjoy!
